We will begin our tour at Gastronomia Doc&Dop, where we will taste a selection of dry-cured hams, cheeses, and Sicilian vegetable pâtés. For cheese lovers, a tasting of Monte Veronese, a semi-hard cheese produced in the local hills with a unique flavor, will be on the agenda.
Next, we will leave the crowds to go to a local bakery, where we will enjoy several varieties of street pizzas and focaccias, the salty, lightly oiled bread typical of the region.
Then, we will make a short stop at a local butcher's shop to discover his specialties and local products.
After a pleasant stroll through the picturesque streets of Verona, we'll reach the Redoro olive oil mill shop. Thanks to the mild climate of Lake Garda, the olive trees thrive here. We'll enjoy a bruschetta accompanied by this "liquid gold," as well as two kinds of pâté.
We will continue our walk with a gourmet break in an artisanal chocolate shop, where we will taste delicious pistachio sweets, the traditional sbrisolona cake, or some typical biscuits from Lessinia.
Verona is famous for its Valpolicella wines, produced notably by Corte Saibante. This family-run winery, which produces fewer than 10,000 bottles a year, guarantees exceptional quality. We'll stop at their tasting room near the Arena, where a sommelier will introduce us to two Valpolicella wines, explaining their origins and aromas.
Finally, we'll end this experience with a visit to the family that produces Pandoro, Verona's iconic cake. In their shop, we'll discover the history of this soft and sweet dessert before enjoying a well-deserved slice.
Meeting point: Bruschetteria Redoro near the bullring
