Embark on a 7-day exploration of Sumatra and discover Medan, Tangkahan, Bukit Lawang, and Lake Toba. This tour immerses you in the heart of nature, amidst jungles, elephants, orangutans, and traditional villages. An ideal adventure to experience the best of North Sumatra.

Day 01: Arrival in Medan

Upon your arrival at Kuala Namu International Airport, our guide will warmly greet you and transfer you to your hotel. The afternoon is yours to enjoy at your leisure.
Overnight at the Emerald Garden Hotel or similar.

Day 02: Medan – City tour – Tangkahan

After breakfast, your guide will take you into town. You will then visit the Sultan's Palace, the Grand Mosque, and a Chinese temple. Afterwards, you will travel to Tangkahan via Binjai and Batang Serangan.
You will arrive in Tangkahan in the afternoon and check into the Mega Inn or similar.

Day 03: Tangkahan – Elephant washing & River safari

After breakfast, you'll walk to the elephant station. There, you'll join the mahouts in washing and feeding the elephants. Then, you'll enjoy a tubing trip down the river.
You'll stop at the stunning Buluh Waterfall and take a refreshing natural shower. You can also swim, sunbathe, and enjoy a picnic lunch by the river.
In the afternoon, you'll explore the village and observe local daily life. Finally, you'll walk back to your guesthouse. Afterwards, you can relax or visit the nearby hot springs.

Day 04: Tangkahan – Bukit Lawang by Jeep

After breakfast, you'll depart by jeep for Bukit Lawang. The route takes you through plantations and along a jungle track, with several stops to admire the scenery and observe local life.
Upon arrival, you'll check into your hotel. In the afternoon, you'll embark on a three-hour hike in Gunung Leuser National Park. You have a good chance of spotting orangutans and other species such as Thomas's monkeys, macaques, and gibbons.
Overnight at Bukit Lawang Cottages or similar.

Day 05: Bukit Lawang – Berastagi – Samosir

After breakfast, you'll depart for Berastagi. You'll stop at the Sembahe River and then drive through Sibolangit. Upon arrival, you'll explore Lhumbini Park and its Shwedagon Pagoda. You'll also visit the traditional market.
Next, you'll head towards Samosir. Along the way, you'll explore the traditional village of Dokan, admire the Sipiso-piso waterfall, and visit the Rumah Bolon, the former palace of the Batak Simalungun kings. Then, you'll stop at Simarjarunjung to enjoy a stunning view of Lake Toba.
You'll arrive in Parapat and take a ferry to Samosir.
Overnight at Tabo Cottages or similar.

Day 6: Samosir – Road Trip

After breakfast, you'll explore Samosir Island by car. First, you'll visit Ambarita and its stone chairs used by the ancient Sialagan kings. Then, you'll travel to Simanindo to witness a traditional Batak dance and visit the museum.
Next, you'll visit Pangururan to admire the views of Lake Toba and its hot springs. At Tomok, you'll discover the ancestral tombs of the Sidabutar kings.
You can also visit a school or a traditional weaving village. There will be several photo stops at scenic viewpoints.
Finally, you'll return to your hotel.

Day 07: Samosir – Medan / Airport

After breakfast, you'll continue your journey to Medan via Pematang Siantar and Tebing Tinggi. You'll travel through several plantations and enjoy the scenery for approximately five hours.
Upon arrival in Medan, your guide will transfer you directly to the airport for your flight.
