The Kwabo tour invites you to immerse yourself in the heart of southern Benin. Over 9 days and 8 nights, discover a country rich in history, culture, and traditions. This itinerary offers an authentic experience, focused on meeting local people and discovering their expertise. Benin, despite its modest size, is full of cultural and historical treasures. This trip is a unique opportunity to experience Benin differently, immersing yourself in its soul and traditions. Each day is a new adventure, a new story to share.

Day 1: Arrival in Cotonou – First steps in Benin

Your adventure begins in Cotonou, the economic and dynamic capital of Benin. Depending on your arrival time (9 p.m. or 3 a.m.), you will be greeted by our local team for a transfer to your 3-star hotel. Cotonou is a vibrant city, blending tradition and modernity. Settle in for a restful night before beginning your explorations.

Day 2: Porto-Novo – A day in the historic capital

Discover Porto-Novo, the administrative capital of Benin, with its colonial charm and peaceful alleyways. You'll visit the Great Afro-Brazilian Mosque, a true architectural gem listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site, as well as the Alexandre Sènou Adandé Ethnographic Museum. The city reveals a fascinating blend of Yoruba and Portuguese cultures. Enjoy a local lunch and return to Cotonou for the night.

Day 3: Adjarra – Immersion in crafts and traditions

Adjarra is a village emblematic of the region for its artisanal know-how. Here, you
'll discover the drum market, the making of raffia mats, the extraction of palm wine, and the production of artisanal oil. This will be an opportunity to interact with local artisans and taste typical dishes in a friendly atmosphere. An enriching day full of authenticity.

Day 4: Ouidah – History of the slave trade and voodoo spirituality

Ouidah immerses you in Benin's rich history. You'll visit the Zinsou Foundation, the Portuguese Fort, the Temple of Pythons, and the Sacred Forest of Kpassè. Travel along the Slave Route to the famous Gate of No Return, a memorable journey. You can visit on foot, by bike, or by motorcycle taxi (ZEM). Spend the night in Ouidah.

Day 5: Gogotinkpon – Well-being, clay and shea

In this peaceful village, you'll experience a day of rejuvenation. A purifying clay bath, a shea butter massage, and a delicious local meal are a unique sensory and cultural experience. Gogotinkpon embodies the strong connection between nature and body care, according to African traditions. Overnight stay on site or in Grand-Popo.

Day 6: Grand-Popo – Between mangroves, lagoons and ocean

Head to Grand-Popo for a day in the great outdoors. You'll explore the mangroves by canoe, the mouth of the Mono River, Salt Island, and Bird Island. This coastal region is rich in biodiversity and peaceful landscapes. A picnic lunch is available as an option. Enjoy relaxing moments on the wild beaches. Spend the night in an ecolodge or hotel in Grand-Popo.

Day 7: Ganvié – Visit the lakeside village

Discover Ganvié, nicknamed the Venice of Africa. The village is built entirely on stilts, in the heart of Lake Nokoué. You will visit the floating market, witness traditional fishing techniques, and learn more about the daily lives of the locals. Return to Cotonou at the end of the day.

Day 8: Tori Bossito – Agrotourism and rural life

Tori Bossito is an opportunity to discover traditional Benin agriculture. You'll visit pineapple fields, meet local producers, and learn farming techniques. It's a friendly day, at the pace of the rural world, where you can taste farm specialties. Return and overnight in Cotonou.

Day 9: Cotonou – Shopping, art and departure

On your last day, explore Cotonou. On the agenda:
Dantokpa Market (the largest in West Africa), Amazon Square, murals, and a craft market. You'll have time to shop for souvenirs and enjoy Fidjrossè Beach before your transfer to the airport.

Terms and conditions

Payment :

  • 30% deposit upon confirmation to guarantee the reservation (refundable up to 35 days before departure)
  • Balance to be paid 35 days before departure

Cancelation :

  • The traveler may cancel their contract at any time, subject to paying appropriate and justifiable cancellation fees upon request.
  • Visa fees, other formalities and consultancy services are never refundable.
  • For any cancellation made less than 20 days before departure, a fee equal to 50% of the price of the service will be applied. This fee corresponds to the service provider's cancellation fees and administrative costs. Supporting documents can be provided upon request.
  • Some trips may be subject to special cancellation conditions, specified at the time of booking.
  • No refund will be granted if the client:
    1. Does not show up for the first service at the times and places indicated in the travel book, or
    2. Is unable to participate in the trip, in particular due to the absence of the necessary documents.
  • Cancellation is free of charge before departure if exceptional and unavoidable circumstances arise at or near the destination, and have significant consequences for the execution of the contract or transport.
  • To cancel, the customer must send an email with acknowledgment of receipt to the contact address provided.
  • The date of receipt of this request will be taken into account for the calculation of any penalties.

  • Personal expenses and souvenir purchases
  • Tips for the guide and driver
